The Brazil UFRGS Chapter, affiliated with the International Society of Explosives Engineers – ISEE, promotes the 3rd Latin American Symposium on Explosives, aiming at updating, discussing problems and solutions, as well as a lot of networking for the mining and construction sectors in Latin America.

The Latin American continent has proven resilient to economic turbulence over the years, demonstrating an enormous capacity for the production of mineral goods, in addition to a pent-up demand for basic infrastructure works, such as sanitation, highways, ports, airports, railways, housing, etc. The Latin American mining market alone generates more than US$ 300 billion in exports annually, and the continent has great potential to supply the world with most of the minerals essential for changing the energy matrix, such as lithium.

The ISEE Latin American Symposium has been a success in all previous editions, with renowned speakers from various countries, plenty of discussion and, most importantly, a showcase of the future of the sector. Today, it is considered the best and largest blasting event in Latin America. With this new edition, around 700 people are expected to attend, discussing strategic themes, case studies and a showcase of what is currently being done in Brazil and internationally to qualify and ensure best practices in rock blasting and drilling in the most varied situations.

The 3rd ISEE LATIN AMERICAN SYMPOSIUM ON EXPLOSIVES ENGINEERING will be held in Porto Alegre on October 17th and 18th, 2024, at the Events Center of the Federation of Industries of RS – FIERGS.
